The UK’s leading youth cricket and disability sports charity, The Lord’s Taverners have been announced as Official Charity Partners of this year’s Business Excellence Awards Essex.

Supporting disadvantaged and disabled young people across the country The Lord’s Taverners put on a range of initiatives that encourage these people to learn, have fun and make friends.

Paul Robin, the charity’s CEO said why they were keen to support this year’s awards: “Lord’s Taverners have a huge amount of charitable activity happening across the region and it is valuable for us to feel part of the local community, and to showcase the fantastic work that we are doing to support disabled and disadvantaged young people using sport.”

This year’s Business Excellence Awards Essex takes place on Thursday 26 September at Essex County Cricket Club. Bringing together a whole host of businesses from across the region for a night of celebration, companies big and small will be acknowledged for their success.

Paul highlighted why it’s important to support local businesses with events such as the awards.

“Regional businesses are the heart of our communities and it is very easy to get immersed in the day to day routine without recognising their amazing achievements. Nights like this allow businesses to come together, network and celebrate one another’s success.”

As well as the opportunity to walk away with one of the 16 coveted awards, the awards also bring a number of other benefits to those who are shortlisted.

Paul explained more: “Being shortlisted for an award gives the nominee the opportunity to be recognised across the region for their success and to networking with other local businesses. The coverage around the awards and the post event supplements allow for businesses to boost their profiles locally and gain recognition for all of their hard work.”

Those nominated will be greeted with a Champagne reception upon arrival before taking their seats to enjoy a three-course meal before the prize giving takes place. The night will be overseen by event hosts comedian Mark Dolan and popular television personality Denise van Outen.

A game of stand-up bingo and silent auction will take place with all proceeds going to The Lord’s Taverners.

Nominations for this year’s awards close on Friday 14 June. Enter online today!
